Modul Contacts: Assembled - Bent - Casted

For us it was important that the connection contacts module technology was that it should be easily automatically assembled. We offer 5 different contact elements, which are shipped in pick and place reels. Then can directly with other SMD devices be assembled onto your PCBs.

  1. The PCB is first automatically assembled with the module contacts using a pick and place system and then reflow soldered.
  2. Subsequently, the single PCB is separated from the carrier plate and the soldered contacts are bent 90 degrees upwards.
  3. Now you can place the PCB in the suitable housing unit. 4: The next step is filling with the potting compound and subsequent curing.

The assembly is done in the flat state. Please note that the module contacts need to have an adequate contact surface on the PCB. You can plan for the appropriate
bridge milling, making them easier to separate after assembly.

Current load capacity

Interesting is the relatively high current load the Module contacts can endure. The standard parts are designed for ca. 4 amps, our MC-2 is able to handle current streams of ca. 5.5 amperes. (Each at 20 degrees temperature heating to ambient temperature.)

The chart below provides further information. Our standard parts have been accordingly marked in yellow:

Construction Tip

We can give you advice on how to construct the PCB, so that the module contacts can be sufficiently soldered and thus obtain the optimal assembly.

Please keep in mind that the parts are installed in the flat state and can stand out accordingly on the edge. Also plan for bridge milling.
