U-Turn Jumper - Direct Savings On Many Projects
The U-Turn jumpers are constructed so that a singlesided SMT assembly can still be used as double-sided.
The advantage of these connectors is that in some applications back side assembly is not necessary, assembled components can be used on the back side.
This is especially interesting with operating and display elements being assembled on the front and then shifted to the other side.
Standard Types ot the U-Turn Jumper
Below we would like to put forward our principle again.
Assembly Examples
You can use the U-turn jumper to not only twist the PCB sub-region by 180 degrees, but then you can even raise this area.
You can now go directly to the front panel controls.
A whole new perspective and the result, an assembly advantage that is directly visible.
U-Turn Jumper Footprints
Our standard U-turn jumper has a spacing of 0.5 mm and corresponding pin width of 0.3mm.
Through this small spacing these jumpers are also very space saving.
Design Tips
In the design of the PCB you need to note that the Uturn jumper must always be assembled in the middle of the board.
We recommend the separation of the two circuit boards being carried out with either milling or scoring . You can allow for a scoring on both sides which allows for an extra edge, which then serves as a stabilizer:
Pay attention to the fact that the U turn jumper needs a small pivot surface, therefore other components cannot rest onto the U turn jumper.
U-Turn Jumper Standard Types
We recommend again that you use the Footprints of our U-turn jumper completely in your layout program.
It is important that you observe any such restricted areas, so that when assembling and later turning down the PCB remains flat, no other components can rest on the jumper.
